Jet Set Go- To A Flight Beyond Human Sphere!

From flying in the skies to shuttling to space, man has made the big leap. This makes you probe into the question who invented the Space Shuttle? It was first developed and tested by NASA in the United States and they used powerful rockets to hurl the shuttle into space. The space shuttle after entering the earth’s orbit glides to land just like a plane. The space shuttle was designed by North American Aviation which has had a history of experimenting with space planes since 1959. Aggressive development of the space shuttle was flagged off by President Nixon. This was done in order to improve upon the earlier prototypes so that the dream of man could be fully realized.

Man’s desire to soar high like a bird is as old as time immemorial. Even mythology talks of Icarus’s jump to death. The first actual flying was done in the 10th century by Abbas ibn Firnas in Spain who invented a set of wooden wings covered with bird feathers. Leonardo Da Vinci too made the first recognizable prototype of the plane. But, it is crucial to know who invented the Airplane? However, it was the dynamic duo of the Wright Brothers, Oliver and Wilbur who successfully tested their airplane in 1903. They also overcame the constraint of depending on the direction of the wind. Some scientists are also of the opinion that was in fact Alberto Santos-Dumont who made the first modern fly plane and not just a gliding machine. This invention has allowed man to travel large distances with faster pace than ships and has widened the world’s horizon.
