San Diego, situated in the state of California is the eighth largest city of United States. It is also the second largest city of California with an estimated population of 1,350,000. The city is located in the west coast of the western US with a close proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The city also remains as the seat of the San Diego County. It is the fifth wealthiest city of United States and also it is one of the major economic and commercial centers of United States.

The metropolitan area of San Diego with a population of 3,146,274 is the 17th-largest metropolitan area of United States.

The economy of San Diego is not entirely depends on a single field. The revenue comes from different sectors such as agriculture, software development, electronics and defense-related manufacturing, computer sciences, ship-repair and construction and telecommunication.

Tourism also plays a prominent role in San Diego with lots of attractions and activities to see and enjoy. Every year the number of visitors to San Diego increase tremendously than the previous year. Some of the must see places of San Diego are as follows.

Mission Beach

This is one of the must see places of San Diego. Situated close to the artificial islands of Mission Bay, this will be the exact place to spend your evening times. Come here, have a leisurely walk and see those architectural magnificence which are surrounding the beach. The beach is also known for its host of volley ball courts where you can enjoy with your friends. You can also rent a roller skates or bi-cycle for a quicker access.

San Diego Zoo

Though widely known as a zoo, this enormous establishment can be described as a home for wide varieties of plants and animals including the rare species. Nearly 4000 species are preserved in this habitat. You can either take a double-decker bus or have a leisure walk to see this home of animals.

Sea World

The San Diego Sea world has a credit of being the first SeaWorld in the world. It houses most of the marine lives such as beluga whales, dolphins, manatees, orca whales, penguins, sharks, polar bears, pilot whale, and much more. It also houses some of the rare marine animals. But when it comes to the cost, Sea World is one of the costliest attraction to visit as nearly $50 is charged for an adult.

Balboa Park

Most of the famous attractions of San Diego are a part of this enormous park. Situated in the heart of the city, this vast 1200 acre park includes some of the major attractions of San Diego such as San Diego Natural history museum, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Museum of Man including other 13 museums, botanical gardens etc. In simple, your trip to San Diego will not be a complete one unless you visit the Balboa Park.
